Very nice work dan888! Keep the mock up card-boad. You can probably trace it onto architectural tracing paper (we call it trash paper, the really thin stuff), put it in an envelope and sell it to guys like me who are now inspired.
Back 6-7 years ago I tried to fab a skidplate, I used Dan888 skidplate as guide. I was given a bunch of pieces of al plate not one piece, so it wasn’t as protective as the Utah skidplate I had. I wasn’t very good at tig welding so it did let me gain some experience. If I had one big piece of al plate I would have learned annealing bending it at the time. Needed to start learning how to run a bead somewhere
