Since we are all getting reamed at..
the pump, what's your gas mileage?? Mine bike is street only with a Muzzy/ Rejet/ Desmog/ Vapor speedo/ Street tires. I know one thing, everybody poo-poo's the stock CV carb but on mine bike it's never burbed or stumbled once. Mixed freeway (70 mph tops) and city I pulled 75.61 mpg on the last fill.

I agree with you on the stock carb..... and i have ridden a klx with a pumper, and imo i wouldnt waste the money on a pumper, i will get some more cc's though... that makes a big difference.

I'm getting about 68 or 70 mpg; my bike is all stock as far as the powertrain. Slightly bigger rear tire as I put a Dunlop 606 120 width on it. Fit fine, looks better. Maybe it will last a little longer than 603's. I ride pretty hard though, lots of full throttle. I've gotten 75mpg if I'm a little nicer to the bike. I love reading and fantasizing about all the mods, but....bottom line is that I also bought this bike to save on fuel. When I ride the bike, my wife drives the Honda Civic Si (fairly trick but still 30mpg), when I drive the Civic she drives the 3/4 ton Suburban 4x4 with the 454 (12mpg, 8-10 pulling a 3-horse bumper pull trailer). My last 2 bikes were a Buell White Lightning with aftermarket muffler/jets (got 60mpg stock/50 after mods) and a Yamaha V-Max (32mpg...on a good day!). So, the way I look at it, if I wanted big power, I know where to get it. Not out of 250cc's. I do find that getting to really thrash the bike through the gears while riding is a blast, and I'm maybe just a little over the speed limit. Doing the same thing on either of the last 2 bikes was a rush, until I'd look down at the speedo and consider the consequences! In any case, if I ride it a few times a month to go to work and leave the Honda at home, we save waaay more in fuel than what it costs for the KLX.

so you're saying you can get over 200 miles to a tank on street? you must have a secret, when I owned my KLX, I was lucky to see 80 miles before I had to hit reserve.

I get a constant 60. So where does the reserve kick in? if we have a 1.9 gal, wouldn't it hit reserve at about1.6? which would translate to 95 or 100 miles before reserve? That's why I carry these. You know everyone whines about not having enough gas, so do something about it. Get a bigger tank, get some bottles to carry more gas, but for the love of GOD quit WHINING!!!!!!!
