Default Short Pointless Story

Got cought in a nice little thunderstorm here in the tristate area coming home from one of the local swimming holes and man it was a list of things that suck.
Rain Sucks.
Rain + Wind Sucks
Rain+ Wind + Drivin Really sucks and felt like I kept getting jabbed in the neck by needles.
Made it home allright me and the bike came out sparkling clean after some road pressure washing. And for every car that passed me i could feel them laughin goin haha that sucks. And some po po thought it would be funny to pull out in front of me when im getting it down the road to find cover.

That sucks. I've been there. I have a solution....

Now my wife and I wear mesh textile jackets with removeable waterproof liners and when needed, heated vests. True all season and all weather flexibility when combined with hte heated vests. We also carry rain pants and wear waterproof riding boots and have waterproof gloves. We've been in driving rain for over an hour and came out compeltely dry except a little water around the chin and above the collar. I've literally gone from 70 degrees to 35 degrees (including snow flurries) in the same afternoon in the mountainsand been completely comfortable just byturing the heat up or down. The vests are the best $400 I've ever spent. It's kept her interested in riding 4 more months out of the year and extended my riding season 2 months.

We use the vests on the BMW and the KLX. I try not to usemore than about50% heat settingon the KLX to avoid draining the battery.... and well...I know better than to tell her how much heat she can or can't use. I also went ot a LED tail light bulb to free up a little reserve power. I haven't had any problems on rides up to2 hours in 40-45 degree weather.

40-45 degree weather? Dude I'm peeling off clothes at those temps. Yes rain stings, but when your average rainfall is 140-160 you sort of get used to it. I also have the MX helmet with the visor, and if I angle it just right I can cut the rain and most of it misses me.

Helmet visor works as a good sheild. Didnt have anything but jeans and a t-shirt cause i was on my way swimming and rain, dont ever plan on it nowhere to put rain gear. Cold weather i wear carhearts and thinsalated water proof hunting gloves thats the redneck in me.

I have some light Columbia raingear that gets packed for everytrip. It doesn't take much space and has saved my *** an many ocassions. Rode about 8 hours in the rain last weekend down in the Ozarks and only pulled over once to let a big lightning storm blow through.

The trip was a hoot even with the rain.
