Default shift star gasket, oh why wont you seal?

that is the question. after replacing the shift star, it leaked and now its got a new gasket and still leaks. should i be using some sort of gasket sealer or black rtv maybe? would really like this fixed, kinda of annoying just to see.

I'm assuming there's no chance your cover got a little twisted or nicked?

For RTV Honda makes a quality one that all the KTM guys recommended using on the valve cover gaskets on the LC4's that were prone to developing leaks a lot. Tested and true for my uses, it's not a cover that needs clearance, I'd say try it.

I hate leaks too, just annoying, it's like having an idiot light on your dash, it's always there glaring at you saying "I'm broken, I'm broken!"

no the last time i did it i got super cleaned and a fresh new gasket, still leaked. im going to ask a few people at the shop i work at if they think there would be any problem using the rtv, but i dont see why it would.

as for the suspention, i did the same, seamed to help a little. right now, when i ride rut tracks, i push the front some, so i think i need to drop the forks a little to get more bite or ive really reached the limit of a 908ff. some day, im going with kx front forks and 119 rear link to get even more out of her.

anyone else got any in put?
