I don't like how you have to lift your foot off the peg to upshift. I'd like something more adjustable for some heel/toe action.

+1000 on wanting to know. That thing is awful. It's all the way in front of the peg, I'd like something a bit more tucked away. After riding those other 250's this weekend I realized it wasn't me, it was the lever.

The IMS shift lever (P/N 313119) does not fit. (I should have researched a bit more because I found another post stating that it does not fit). [:@]

Luckily IMS will take it back. I emailed them beforehand and explained the situation (also pointed out that I'm an existing customer with purchasing the foot pegs).

Here's the pics:

Aftermarket Shifter

Aftermarket Brake

They're positioned about 3" aft and 1" up compared to stock. Mainly for motard use. You don't want to know the price.[:-]

This seems to be an elusive topic that deserves a bump...

The stock shifter is still annoying me... Does anyone have a part number/price/source for an after market shifter that actually fits the 06/07 KLX250 without any bending, grinding, or cutting??

anything?!???

It is possible that an aftermarket lever for a 05 or newer XR 250 may fit. I havnt tried it but by eyeball the splines look pretty similar.
The difference to the KLX300 is the size(width) of the alternator on the 250.
I modified mine and I am not entirely happy with it, its like 1/2 a spline out, I will chop and re-weld it soon.
