Yes, the service manual is great help.
There is a downloadable, although possibly pirated copy, hanging around here somewhere.

A downloaded copy is nice, but there's nothing like having it in your hands right next to your bike. If you have a laptop that's a little different. It's kind of hard to take the desktop out to the bike. I think I paid close to $100 for both of my manuals.

A printer works quite well.
.....and the price is right.
