Deej,

I asked this earlier on the other thread, but it didn't get answered.

"...what *specifically* can a Moderator do? ...or not do?" That is, what powers do you have to enforce decentness, respect, etc.... If you have no powers what-so-ever, then what's the purpose of a Moderator in this forum?

Hate is a strong word, I really don’t think anyone hates youDeric

I've been a mod and I am an admin, you have the power to delete any post or thread you feel is troublesome as long as it follows the forum rules.

From what I gather on other forums Moderators are like mall security. They keep an eye on things and can report the offenders to the real police, the "admins". The real police slapped IG on the wrist and let him go.

Those of you leaving (left) will be missed but you do what you must.[sm=smiley24.gif]

Actually to tell you the truth, I really never found a list of what a mod can or can not do, and I now feel bad about that, I feel like I somehow took this on not knowing what it really meant and feel that because of my lack of information and this being my first and now only attempt at being a mod I came in doomed to fail. I'm really sorry if I offended anyone although I was told that this would not be easy, and up until recently I didn't understand what that entailed. I thought (through my rose colored glasses) that a mod was just there to nudge a little in the right direction. Oh well I guess I can add this to my life's experiences and move on......sheesh I'm getting all emotional, and that right there tells me that I have become too involved in this whole process. I just want to be a noob again. Can I go back and start all over? I do have my deej 2 account, but I think that would give it away. Thanks guys.

On line fighting/arguing is unfortunately all too common. I have found the members here to be very helpful and I enjoy logging on although I rarely post. Every bodybuilding site has members who bench 1000 pounds, every truck site has members who tow the Queen Mary with a half ton. Here it seems there's members who start out asking basic questions and a year later are experts in their own minds.

Takes all kinds I guess.

Hope you guys stick around,
