Default Seat Concepts

Well, I waited 2 weeks to post just so I`d get enough seat time to really comment.
As you know, some of us have a hard time with the stock seat and foam. It`s even a deterrent to riding any distance. It can make the KLX a little less enjoyable. At least it did for me. So I ordered this seat a few weeks ago.

So first off, this is a fairly simple DIY job as long as you have or have access to a pneumatic stapler OR a heavy duty stapler. My regular one would not push 1/4 inch staples into the plastic.
Removing the old cover took about 10 minutes.
New cover and foam went on as per instructions. Looks nice too!

Ok. So here`s my thoughts: I love this seat! It`s brought back the enjoyment of riding this bike. You can feel the difference right away. I`ve had a couple of 3 hour rides and no pain! Maybe a little numbness but no more than sitting on a couch for 3 hours. You have to move anytime you sit for a long time on anything.
Anytime I stopped, there was no nagging pain like I just got off a see saw after a few hours. In fact today AFTER the 3 hour ride, I went back out for an hour and it was like getting on the bike for the first time today.

Very cool.

I`m on the heavy side too and this seat really rocks!

Just my 2 cents.....

The stock seat never bothered me. It's actually quite nice. It is a 2010 though, I said on a few "new" models and it felt like hard rubber wrapped in fabric

What cover option did you go with? I've been thinking about going with one for my klx. Got any pictures of it installed on the bike?

I went with the first option...gripper center with vinyl sides. Black.
Ya the stock seat just isn`t made for sitting. Other than that, it`s great

I`ll try to take some pics soon.

Looks like you did a really good job of installing.

Actually, the design is great and it`s actually easy to center it. Now that it`s warmer out, I may tighten it up a bit. I tried getting it warm enough to stretch but even in the sun it was still too cold for a proper fit. I get the odd wrinkle that goeas away but still....

Forgot to mention that it comes with an optional rain barrier. Just a simple plastic 'bag' that you put between the cover and foam. I put it on just to keep drier on rainy days.
