I'm near Kearney. If you were on I-80, you passed right by it. I am about 30 miles south of there. And yeah, the wind does blow here but we've also got one of the nation's lowest unemployment rates (valiantly defending "the good life"). Also, I'm going to be fishing for a windshield. That sounds like a good option.

I live in Lincoln, and commute to and from Omaha every day (not by motorcycle). I rode my KLX-SF out on HWY 30 to Grand Island then onto Hwy 2 for about an hour then headed back to Lincoln. Is there and good/scenic riding out there.

I only wear my MX helmet on the KLX, it looks stupid in my opinion to wear a street helmet with this bike, that would be like me wearing my MX helmet on my Honda ST 1300 Sport Touring bike. The wind has never really bothered me but then again I don't do more than 60 on the KLX anyway.

What's your opinion of scenic? There's some pretty land in Franklin County but that's right along the KS border. Nebraska kinda looks the same down here. The only real difference is farmland or pasture land.

Different riding, different helmets... that's my opinion. I have a street helmet and an MX helmet. I hated the last time I tried doing 70 miles of 60-80 MPH riding with the MX helmet. Never again.

I have the same helmet and the same issue, so I took off the face shield and wear goggles now. It totally solved the problem. I'll put the shield back on when it rains or gets cold.

The roost deflector is the problem on my MX helmet... at street speeds, it wants me to take off... like The Flying Nun (oh boy, that's really dating me...).

Another two helmet guy here. Rocks and trees bounce off of my MX helmet and it is often coated with grime inside and out. My full face street helmet stays clean and I take good care of it so that I don't get dirtier after wearing it. Street helmets are also much quieter inside due to the face shield and better sealing. Finally, with a street helmet you don't need to worry about bees flying into your ear.
