Default FOR SALE: Moose Sahara Jersey (XL) - NEVER WORN!

For sale this time is an XL jersey by Moose. It is the Sahara design (tons of venting with much of the back being a free breathing mesh) in the Stealth (shades of gray) color. Here's a pic:

I know you guys are starting to wonder if I have hit hard times with all of this selling. Thankfully that's not the case. I am just trying to purge some things that I don't need so that I can put a few coins into some mods for the new bike.

The reason I can part with this jersey is that I have lost a bunch of weight lately (44 pounds and counting since the beginning of January), so the MX jersey that I bought after TdAII needs to be replaced with one that fits. I bought the jersey after seeing all of the cool guys at the rally with their jerseys on. I have never even worn this jersey except to try it on. It fit back in January when I bought it, but now (thankfully) it's too big. I still have the tags, even though I took them off. You can still see the creases in the shirt from when it came in the box from DennisKirk.com.

I paid $23.97 plus S&H from DennisKirk.com. I would like to sell it for $18 shipped. They go for the mid-20s for new ones like this on Ebay. Anyone interested? If $18 is too much, make an offer.

Thanks,
Chris

Take up mountain biking and ride your favorite trail with it. It's really fun. Much harder than riding a dirbike, not just physically but techniquewise as well.

I've been doing it the old fashioned way - working out a bunch (mostly cardio) and watching what I eat. Nothing special or flashy. The main thing was my source of motivation. I had two buddies from church that also happen to go to the same gym that I do. The three of us decided to do our own little Biggest Loser style competition, with some pretty high stakes for the winner. These guys are both pretty well off, so I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to even play in their same league on the wager.

One of the guys is a big hunter, and he suggested the prize. The 2 guys that lose the competition have to purchase a Browning Citori shotgun for the winner. For those not familiar with this firearm, they start at about $1500 or $1600 and go up from there depending on wood quality, inlay, etc. We are competing for an entry level model and if the winner wants to augment from there, it's on their own dime.

That was the original bet, but I changed my part to be if I won, I wanted the money instead to do mods to the bike. I wanted to use the money for a big bore kit, pumper carb and suspension for my KLX. Obviously that won't be the case now, but if I win (unlikely at this point) I will still use much of the money for the high dollar mods to the KLR - suspension being the main one.

Back to the weight loss. I work out 6-10 times per week. If you are really good at math you will notice that this works out to twice a day on some days. It's usually a spin class (stationary bike in a group setting with rave music playing - very strange), or elliptical machine or some running. I am not much of a runner - especially when I weighed 253 pounds (@ 5'10" that pretty nasty right there). I have been doing pretty good with my running and recently ran a 5K in 24 minutes and 40-something seconds. Not too shabby for a fat guy.

I'm down to 209 now but I am in 3rd place in my competition. One dude has lost 66 pounds (from a starting weight of 306) and the other guy has lost 51 pounds (from a starting weight of 240). The 306 guy had lost about 20 pounds before we began the competition, so his change is truly incredible. I'm not one to accept a loss very easily, but if either of these guys win, they will have earned it. By the way, they are both older than me. Mr. 306 is 42 and Mr. 240 is 46.

The message here is that you can absolutely change your weight in 5-6 months if you want to. I was at the point where I had resigned myself to never see the 100s again. I wasn't too worked up by that, but I just took it as a given that I was always going to be the doughboy in the group. If there is anyone else reading this, you need to know that it doesn't have to be that way. You would be amazed at how much you can do if you just get mad at your situation and decide to change it. For me it came down to a matte of self mastery. I just got angry with myself that I was being so weak, so I decided to change that. I still cheat way, way more than I should. That's why I will probably lose. Even if I lose though, I will have dramatically changed my situation.

Sorry to give you way more than you bargained for in this post, but I got on a roll.

MMMM----- rolls. Big, fat yeast rolls.

What? Who said that? I'm hungry.

Thanks for asking,
Chris

Good Job Chris, 44#'s is awesome. I started around 250 about 2 months ago, but have dropped 20 for a start. I have found that once you get into a groove of eating right that it drops quite nicely. Good Luck
