There is so little stopping power from the rear brake on these bikes that this sounds like an eminently reasonable solution to me.

Funny story: I was riding a borrowed Harley bagger and the first time I pulled up to a stop sign I really thought the front rotor was badly warped the way the bike was pulsing. But it continued even after stopping...turns out it was just the big V-twin thumping away normally. That's not the funny part but this is: I later owned a Harley Electra Glide.

OK, I went with the used and drilled-out rotor.

Bedded in the old pads by stopping at progressively higher speeds: 5, 10, 15 mph etc.

Wow. What a difference. No more pulsing and seems to stop well. It was definitely a bent rotor.

Thanks for all the help.

I actually am impressed with the 250 braking. My 650 with a 300mm front rotor won't hit near as strong. Maybe after I put on the braided lines on both bikes I'll see.
