Default Replacing FR sprocket. Lube question.

Wondering what you guys are using to lube the threads of the output shaft when replacing the FR sprocket.

Need something to be picked up locally. Donīt have time to order online, since my nephew is leaving the US next Friday morning to visit us down here.

Thanx.

I don't believe anything is actually recommended, but I use antiseize on those threads. I've done it on every chain drive bike I've ever owned. I've never had a problem with doing so, and in fact was always able to spin my countershaft nut off with one good hit of the air impact wrench. I've never had it loosen or act up in any negative way when using antiseize. This is over a time span of over 40 years, and I can't remember how many bikes.

Never heard of lubing the output shaft in 40 years of riding.

I don't really see a need either. I just put one on my Ninja 500 and did not. It is a different set up where the sprocket slides onto splines and 8mm bolts hold a retainer clip of sorts. I like that setup.

I also use anti-sieze on the countershaft nut. Any auto parts store should have it.

Been doing it for years, just what I was taught I guess. I can remember bike that had spline wear problems, maybe that's why it became common practice. I just snug the nut and 1/2 fold the washer for ez sprocket swaps, don't think I have ever torqued it tight? One of theses days I'll buy a fuji lock nut and toss that washer.

OK, where does one get a fuji nut that big? Found a site selling them for KLR axles, but that doesn't help much.
