Default Removing OEM mirror off of brake cylinder?

How does one remove the stock mirror off of the brake master cylinder? I tried loosening up the twist-lock to see if it'd pull out but it wouldn't budge.

I want to put one of these on my bars instead to clean up my peripherals.

The hex nut looking thing with the taper going up is a jam nut. looking down you need to turn it counter clockwise. Once it is backed off a little the mirror should loosen the same way pretty easy.

Does that mirror you have pictured drop down below the bars or pop up above?

So I have to spin the mirror off of the mount counter clockwise?

The mirror mounts both ways but I'm hanging mine below.

Instead of paying almost $100 for the APA mirror above - I stopped by my local Suzuki dealer and picked up some Bikemaster bar-end mirrors for $50.

I just removed the bar-end insert and clamped one mirror onto the left side of the bars. The best part is if I break the mirror I'll have a replacement since it comes in a 2-pack. :P

No good if you have Barkbusters fitted.

I've removed the LHS mirror altogether and only use the RHS on the slab.
And unscrew it and put it in the back pack when we hit the dirt.

I discarded the bar-end bolts and clamped the mirrors directly to the bars.
