Look at the oposite pad. It appears that it is farther up in the caliper. If this is the case and the hanging pad won't go up that far then you will have to remove the rod, reinsert the pads and reistall the rod. It looks as though the hanging pad is not goin up far enough in the caliper. When it goes into place there will be no gap between the backside of the pad and the caliper casting.

 

Exactly what VFRPILOT said!!! your close, looks like your swung the "loose" pad up and its on the clip, now you hve to shove the 'loose' pad back over against the side of the caliper so that that gap you see is gone. just work with the top of the pad and the clip until you get it in the little grove, then shove the whole thing over.

Once you get it over, there will be plenty of space for the disc brake to fit in....

Looks like its moving in the right direction!!

 

Ok if I unscrewed the bolt, I can get the pad on now.......YES!!!

But now the pads are touching and no room for rotor????

Another, see the pads touching?? the rotor has to go between them not on the outside???

The wheel will actually fit now, but not between pads????

That pad needs to be slid all the way over to the caliper casting. (To the left in the picture)
If it won't slide you may have to take a thin screw driver and push up on the spring clip in the top of the caliper. But YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK!!!!!!

 

If I slide it to the left the pad comes off the clip and falls off.........the top clip thing stops at the opening, so when I put the pad on it is recessed and right next to the other pad........

I am loosing it already...................

Ok, here's the deal. Go get you a cup of coffee, (and a danish too) relax for 30 minutes. I'm going to go home and take some pictures of my caliper and pads then I'll be back and post them. (My front end is apart right now because I sent the forks to Moto Pro to get resprung and valved)
So give me 40 minutes and we'll get this done!!!

Wheel back on........now help me bleed out the front brake.....hahhahahaahahahah

The tube idea on the bleeder worked!!

Now I have no pressure on the front brake lever.........
