I just noticed last night that in the stock mirrors if you look at it One of them is raised by like an inch because of the brake fluid box thing and the other one sits flush with the handle bar. That's kind of a quirky design.

 

It is a common design, usually the clutch side is also in the lever mount, but not with most dual sports, because they may share a lever mount with the off road bikes.. I changed the right side to a separate mount on my 650 because I don't want to break a master cylinder, since they are both right handed thread. On the 250 I went to the folding mirrors to deal with it.
