Default rear view mirrors suck?

Hi all,

I had the day off yesterday and was riding on a slippery piece of wood and it slipped. Thankfully, the only real damage was the front right review view mirror. Quite frankly, I didn't like them too much anyways since they captured a better image of my arm than they did of the actual traffic behind me.

So now i'm at a cross-road and need some input/advice since my annual inspection is coming up (I'm in Virginia) I can either....

A) get another mirror (same one OEM) from Kawasaki for about $50 bucks

B) go aftermarket

There's been a lot of gripe about the aftermarket mirrors how they come loose, are shaky, and overall aren't really good. So if anyone has some good recommendations or comments, please feel free to let me know. Thanks guys. Happy riding.

I just put double take enduro mirrors on my 06 klx. They will move if you drop the bike preventing them from getting broken. They also fold out of the way if you need to get under tree branches or ride on tight single track. https://www.doubletakemirror.com/

I did the very same, just installed Double Take mirrors. I like them a lot so far. Love being able to fold them down out of the way.

+1 on Doubletake... only downside I've heard of is that you can scratch them if you don't take care when folding them. (Don't let the shiny side vibrate against anything). I only use mine when I know I'm going to be on-road, so not very often, but they work as good as any oem mirrors I've ever had.

if i go off road the stock mirrors come off and i put a bar end mirror on the right hand side of the clutch, just enough for me to see what is behind me. Its alot easier going under trees with no mirrors sticking up

I put a pair of these Aprilia Tuono mirrors on my KLR650 and they were fantastic. Large field of view, pivoting mounts (no need to use a wrench to adjust them). They swing in for off-road riding. They soak up vibration much better than standard mirrors do also.

There are a lot of knock offs that look like these. I have no idea if the knock offs are any good.

First time I break one of the mirrors on my KLX, these are going on.

Take that back, I just ordered a pair of real ones from https://apriliasuperstore.com

Right: https://apriliasuperstore.com/i-1173...ew-mirror.html

$74 with shipping.

Nice. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll have to shop around and see what I like/don't like.

Ironically, I don't take my KLX250 off-road too much. If I had to split it would be probably....85 road / 15 dirt. And even when it's "dirt" it's like grassy planes and pretty open areas but I can see how them "ears" of the mirror can easily get snagged on tree branches and leaves. I guess Kawasaki wasn't thinking when they designed them.
