Default Rear Shocks?

Does anybody have any idea if any rear shocks from any other bikes will mount up to a 09 klx250? Other than another klx shock, kind of a stupid question but I've been wondering as I'm not really fond of the rear suspension. Sag's been set and I've been playing with clickers for a few weeks and still haven't found a suitable setting.

I won't say there isn't another rear shock out there that might not fit, but you'd have a world of searching and checking to find as a general rule. Here's the problem. On most rear shocks like the KLX and many, many others you have to consider the angle of the piggyback, length, width, both mount styles, and other factors. Then, what makes you think the valving/damping on whatever the shock came off will be suitable to the characteristics of the KLX?

It's not that unusual to not be satisfied with any bike's suspension setup from the factory. That's why they make revalving kits and services. Many $8000-$10,000 bikes get revalved right from the get-go. The KYB on the KLX is a good shock, and it can be revalved with a Race Tech, Moto Pro, or other available kits. I did mine myself on both the fork and shock, and it's been a great improvement. It's not rocket science. Keep your shock and do a revalve yourself or by a suspension service. I'm surprised your complaints don't involve the front fork more than the rear shock. Most of us find the fork in more need of attention.
