Thumbs up rear fender eliminated...

tools:
  1. drill master 80 piece rotary tool kit - $6.99 this week at harbor freight with coupon.. Rotary Tool Kit - 80 Piece Set
  2. mini hack saw

remove rear...using the hacksaw follow the lines to do the straight cuts....i actually used the drill bit to drill holes and grind/cut the curves....i use the rotary mini grinder to smooth out all the rough edges and even everything out...leave a little plastic flap to drill holes for the license plate...not sure if it's illegal to have the license plate side ways, but if it is...it's a simple fix...

Do you do all your wrenching in the living room? Looks like carpeting underneath your bike in a couple of your pics?

Sideways plate is illegal in WA, but then again, so is removing that mud flap.

So all that ground plastic just falls into your carpet?

It looks much better than stock. The OEM light will be much safer than the edge light too which is more important for a road bike.

Got my first motorcycle speeding ticket with my plate mounted like that. Highway patrol officer didn't even ask about it, he did ask what brand of m/c that was. I said Husqvarna, he said he'd never heard of it. I asked if he ever seen 'on any sunday'? He said no..........

was trying to find any california laws against it, but couldn't...just read that it needs to be legible and lighted...the old license plate bracket was so bulky and enormous...i didn't want to use that...i'll go back to the hardware store and get a flat 1 inch piece of metal...drill some holes and make a new license plate bracket...

How come your plate looks so darn big???

If you like it and don't get a ticket that's what counts...........I don't like the look myself. Looks like it was just thrown on.......not a finished look.

Harley guys have been mounting their plates sideways forever, down low and to the side. In fact they make brackets for it. I don't think that will be and issue in CA.

So do you have any pics under the light showing how you mounted the plate up?
