yeah it should just bolt right up because the two bikes are exactly the same with some minor changes. you can take a 300 fender and put it on your 250. good luck.

 

Yep bolted on with no modifications using the original tail light, fender was $48 from www.bikebandit.com

does the 250 taillight fit on the 300 fender? the taillight on JBs post #4 above look diffrent to me.

 

The tail light I see on most US bikes seem a lot bigger than the ones we get over here. Mine fitted straight on the KLX300 fender. The bigger one may still have the same bolt pattern though.

 

The mtg base is lower on the KLX300 than the KLX250 thats why it looks bigger, the red lense itself is the same Kawi part #. Before I did the acerbis tail, I was gonna buy the KLX300 fender and see if my tail bolted on but I never did pursue it. I couldnt find a seperate part # for the KLX300 light base so it may not be sold seperately. I think your KLX250 light should bolt right up. If you really want to switch over just buy a fender and try your light first before spending the extra $$.

 

Hey guys.I'm the proud owner of 1 of the klx's pictured.The 300 rear fender bolts straight up.We used genuine Kawasaki fendeer,but sorry dont have the part number on me.Looks soooo much sweeter.Hate the bike rack etc..Also highly recomend the Staintune Muffler.Sweet sound and great power with no maintanence.We also fitted the small non genuine rear indicators straight onto the number plate holder.I'll try and find ot part number's etc.

 

I noticed too that the OEM taillights have the same part number for the 300 and the 250, but the pics look really different.

There is no way the US MODEL has the same tailight from 250S to 300R. If you are taking Euro or Australia spec bikes then I can't say for sure. Make sure you look at the entire part number which is not always listed on parts diagram pages.

Its the same lense, the mtg bracket is different.
