Sometimes I don't think before I speak. That's just who I am!
It's no problem, I ask a lot of questions. That's who I am. You could tell me the sky is blue and I would still ask someone else if the sky is really blue. Know what I mean? I don't have very confident decision making abilities so I'm always second guessing myself or assuming that what I'm doing is wrong so I have to get others opinions and then analyze the whole. This is amplified times 10 when it comes to something that I've never dealt with before(dirtbikes). I hope you guys understand.

Like i said , in my younger years i was i little different, now i sit back and wait for young guys lke you to make all the mistakes so i don't have to! I have,, and i am sure ALL on this forum have made their share of mistakes and learned from them. You young guys really benefit from the internet though. Us older guys had to learn from hard knocks and sometimes just junked projects because we didn't have the support at our fingertips.
I have 4 boys and 3 of them take **** apart all the time and then,,, i get to help them.
I will usually send them to the internet first for help, just like you have done.
As far as the military statement,,, guys like you who take the bull by the horn do well in the military. Hooyah.
You keep on doing what you are doing,,, but learn from what you have done.
This is 100% correct. The internet is such a great resource and enables us all to do things that we would have never been able to do 20 years ago. It's amazing how much more advanced civilization has become due to the internet. I wouldn't have even bought this bike had it not been for the internet and finding it on Craigslist! Back in your time(assuming your pre-internet), if you didn't know anyone that knew how to change brakes in a car, you would either have to take it somewhere to get them changed or try it yourself and risk breaking something or messing something up. In this day in age, I can get all the materials and necessary information for how to change my brakes in my car right off the internet and even watch a Youtube video on it! The internet is a good and a bad thing though. I think that people that are pre-internet generation are way better thinkers and have more creativity and exploration. We depend on the resources around us rather than trying to figure things out on our own. I'm trying to stray away from that.

Nothing wrong with asking questions. Keep asking. The point I was trying to make which was not very clear I guess, was it would be nice if all of your questions were in one or two theads. Someone created a thread just for you. Like I told you before in one of your threads, I have learned from the questions that you have asked. So, thank you. And I mean that. I really do. I wish I could help, but I'm in the same boat as you. Trying to learn mods for our bikes. Now if we were talking 82-02 camaro's and firebirds, that I know like the back of my hand then I could help you, and there is nothing I can't fix on them. Carbs, and me don't get along. I like F.I. Good luck with your project and no matter how many, many, threads you make, I will follow. I will try to be a little more nice to you.

I drilled mine yesterday. 'Drilled' is kind of misleading - you use a drill bit, but not a drill. I think I actually got mine part way thru with only my fingers turning the bit, and finished it CAREFULLY with a pair of vise grips. Sure doesn't take much.
