Very cool! Thanks vfrpilot for providing the bike for the prototype.

Count me in for a group buy if it happens.

id be willing to bet that our will be a little more complicated because of the rad fan..... if i am correct the klx450 doesnt have a rad fan..... so our guards will have to work around the fan.... might make it a little more challenging/ expensive.

I saw somewhere, might not have been his stuff, on a bike with a fan, that the fan just unbolted, install the guard and the fan bolts right back on the outside of the guard. Looked kinda simple but I guess it never is. [sm=smiley20.gif]

My DRZ400 has a radiator fan and I put a set of Unabikers (black) on it. The fan comes off along with the horn and gas tank to install them. I also asked Brian about the KLX250S a few months ago and at that time he said he was looking into making them.

Since we're on the subject:

I just got back from dropping my bike off at Unibiker. I think that I can answer alot of the questions that you have asked.
First, Brian is a very personable entrepreneur. I had a long talk with him about his products and his background. What a nice guy! And the quality of his products are A-1. It is obvious that he cares that his products are made well and that his customers are pleased. I just can't say enough about the positive feeling I got while talking with him.
As far as the Anodizing goes, I'm sure that he will offer the same colors that he does with the other rad gaurds. Initially, it might be limited, but he is aware that one of the things that sets him ahead of the others out there is the offering of colors.
Brian mentioned that he had been talking to Sid about the group buy deal and indicated that there was a good chance of that happening.
We also talked about the fan / horn thing. He has a design for the DRZ that works with the fan and the horn. Our fan didn't seem to excite him at all, and he thought that it would be easy to work around. We also discussed that the horn may have to be relocated, or mounted on the gaurd.
I also talked to him about the possibility of a skid plate. I've got my fingers crossed on that one. I told him that I had been holding off on one because everything that I had seen so far looked like it fell off of a D8 Caterpillar. He said that the skid plates were a natural progression to his business and was anxious to get into them.
All of his designs are started out as CAD drawings then transfered to his CNC router for cutting. The router is a cool little machine. The fact that the gaurds are routed and not punched seems to me to be a plus when considering overall strength.
Unabiker is a one man operation, and it is his full time job. He is truely dedicated to producing a quality product. After meeting him, and seeing the fruits of his labor, I am 100% sold on his products. I like dealing with guys like this. The small business man that believes in hard work and customer satisfaction is something that is getting scarce.
So, anyway, I'll probably get my bike back next week. I'll take pictures, and post them so you can see the finished product. Then Sid can work up some kind of group buy deal.
That's all for now.
