Default Quick Question about stock kickstand/suspension

Okay,
I bought my bike as-new but it was actually considered a "demo" because it used for the motorcycle safety class for the first 150 miles of its life. Anyways, when I bought it, it had a kouba lowering link on it. I took that off and of course the kickstand was too short. The bike was dangerously close to tipping over. So I fixed a hockey puck to the bottom of the stand, and it has seemed to work okay. I wrecked once which ripped the puck off, and now it has come lose again. So, instead of messing with the puck anymore, I just want a new stand.

Did these bikes come stock with a lowering kit? Or did someone shorten my kickstand along the way? If I order a new kick stand, will it be the correct height for what it is now?

I guess it is possible they could have put a kickstand off the SF version on it if it does not look like it has been cut and re welded. Take a measurement of its length and I'm sure someone on here would check theirs. I'm positive mine would be shorter cuz my bike starts out lower than yours.

I measured the three Kickstands I have at my disposal Measuring from center of the kickstand bolt to the weld on the forward side when deployed-

9" For a modified kickstand on lowered SF
11" Stock SF Kickstand
13.25" Stock S kickstand

Hope this helps
Cheers Jim

I bought the SF Kickstand because I thought I would need it when I went to 17" rims front and back on my 250S. Totally wrong. The bike leaned like 40 degrees. I put the stocker back on and it's good. Bounce your measurements off Jim's^.

Thanks for those measurements Jim,

I went and measured mine and it is right at 11".

Apparently 06 and 07 models have a dog leg in them and 09 and 10's are straight. Mine does have a dog leg in it so it is for an 06 or 07 and not for an SF. It does have a weld on it down by the little foot, I can't tell if it is factory or not though. So somebody must have cut it when they lowered it, if it was supposed to be over 13".

So I ordered a new one from bike bandit. Hopefully it is longer than 11".
