Q2 - What to do?
I spoke with Jerry (the owner of FSW) yesterday concerning the application of
his head pipe and the FMF Q2 slip-on. He said that his pipe would need to be
modified to fit the Q2. Apparently he needs to weld an adapder to the end of
his pipe to accept the slip-on. The Good news is that he said if I ship him my
Q2 that he would modify his pipe at no charge.
Here's my cost breakdown.
FMF Q2 $220.00
FSW Head Pipe $155.00
FSW Jet Kit $35.00
S/H $30.00
Uni Filter $20.00
Total$460.00
For this investment (and the headache of doing the mods) I estimate I'll
gain 2-4 horsepower.
At this point I have to ask, is it worth it? I had a truck that I added
headers, a high flow cat, and a performance cat back system to which added about
15-20 horsepower. I remember driving it for the first time after the mods and
thinking that I could tell the difference in power. As time passed I became
used to it and didn't notice it anymore. Of course then I started looking at what
else I could do to add power. I'm sure that you know what I mean by this vicious
circle. The only difference here is that 2-4 horsepower represents a 10%-20% increase in
the bike's horsepower.
For those of you that have added one exhaust system or another what was your
impression afterwards? Was it worth it?
Let me know what you think.

It's all relevance, if you make good money and blow that much on dinner for you and the misses then what are you waiting for?
On the other hand; if it takes you all week to make enough to complete those mod’s then what the hell, what are you waiting for?
You're going to do it anyway.........you know you are.
