RE: Pumper carb on Ebay
In reading the description of why he is selling it, the AP on the FCR35 also sits very close to the exhaust mid-pipe/header. It is a non-issue, assuming that's the only reason it is being sold.

The accelerator pump protrudes out from the side of the carb and it sits very close to the exhaust pipe. I guess you could actually push it into the pipe so that it touches if you wanted to. I took it to mean that he was worried about the heat from the pipe. I'm saying that is a non-issue. From my own direct experience and that of lots of others.

RE: Pumper carb on Ebay
Just to add, if anyone is considering bidding on this carb and wants a close-up photo of this, I can take one this evening. I don't know if the FCR35 that I have and the FCR37 in the auction have the same body style or not, though. All I can comment on is the AP and the exhaust - it may have other issues not stated in the auction. The FCR35 is definitely a tight fit, though. The way I have my carb in the boots, the accelerator pump sits about 1/8 of an inch or so away from my exhaust pipe. I've not experienced any issues with vapor lock, fuel boiling, or anything like that, and I've never seen any similar reports from others running the FCR35.

Would this make it a wheelie machine?

BTW, here's a photo of what I think the e-bay seller is talking about. I could be wrong and if I am and you buy it, I take no responsibility. But if this is all he is worried about, then I'd say that is a great buy because the carb being close to the pipe is not an issue at all, at least as far as my experience has been. The disk sticking out with the brass tube and little rubber boot on top is the accelerator pump and plunger - it is very close to the carb and if you rotate the carb in its boots, you can easily make it rub the pipe. You can see that I've got a little gap in mine.
