I find the quicker throttle makes it easier to ride in the tight stuff. I can transfer the weight forward or rearward faster with this throttle, which allows more precise control of the bike. I felt comfortable with it almost immediately and I think it has helped my riding. Hey Bill, can you make it down to Red River anytime soon? I've wanted to check out that monster KLX of yours for some time.

Appreciate all the feedback. Is there a thread on using the stock carb with the 331 and or recommended baseline jetting for sea level?

I have had the 292 with the pumper and without. If I could only do one, I would do the 292 first. With the 13T sprocket, the CV carb, FMF pipe, and airbox lid on no snorkel, the bike will still pull the wheel in 1st & 2nd gear if I'm rolling along and nail the throttle. Later, when you can afford it, get the pumper, and then later on when you have some more money, send the 292 cylinder to Kustom Kraft with another $440.00 and get the 331 nikasil big bore. To me, the 292 kit made the most difference to the power output of the motor.

I'd do the 331 and try the throttle, mine goes either 1/4 turn, or 3/8 turn I really like the 1/4 turn better. The pumper carb works well but you'll see more gains with the overbore. Cams weren't that big of deal for me I've changed back and forth and like both. Good luck and have fun.

Do you mean the Magura 314, that's the one I'm running? It can be used in MX or Enduro mode. About $40.00

Can you use the stock cables with this throttle?

Yes, you can use the stock pull cable. I've used it with the stock carb, the Mikuni TM33, and the TM36. With the stock carb, the throttlewas stiffer to twist than stock, but not a whole bunch. With the TM33, itwas noticably stiffer(even whensetting theMagura to "enduro"). I didn't like it with that carb for that reason. On the TM36, you can adjust throttle spring tension, so you can make the Magura feel just as soft to twist as the stock throttle.
