Productive Friday getting ready for the big ride this weekend
Well the local dirt bike club is having a huge ride tomorrow & Sunday. Its on the trails north of here, we haven't been up there riding since hunting season (though I think the rest of the club has) and I haven't ridden the trails up there but once, worked them another time, but I'm excited. ALL SINGLETRACK! I like the 4-wheeler trails well enough, but I wanna give the singletrack a try again. The last time was like the month after I bought the bike. Only bad news is the low tonight is mid 20s, and we have to leave early to ride up there (like 7 or so) and its alot of highway (~15 miles)... can we say cold?
ANyways, spent this afternoon after class getting the bike ready. Cleaned and lubed the chain thurougly, and I checked the air filter (good to go).
May remember I had an issue with the side case:

Well a slab of JB Weld later:

And since I was in the tinkering mood, I pulled off the kickstand safety switch. It still worked, but it was holding about a pound of mud and dirt and pinestraw, and I"d rather be safe than sorry when we're 30 miles from home with no truck.
The '09 isn't as simiple as the '07-back to bypass. The two wires on each side are actually in a plug instead of individually connected.

So I pulled some wire out and snipped the connector, and spliced the wires together, and then wrapped them in electrical tape and stuffed it down in the hole.

Threw a new pair of insoles in the boots, too. I'm excited! I can't friggin' wait. I'm getting so confident on the bike, I wanna ride hard.
"I wanna go fast!"

I'll be sure and post plenty of pics of the other rides/riders, hopefully some action shots, too.
