To be clear, the DJ140 main jet is not in the 2152 kit. I need the kit, and a main jet, and a pilot jet. Are the main and pilot jets specific to KLX250S, or is this generic?

turn OUT until idle DROPS, then turn IN until idle DROPS again? then OUT to the midway point. got it.

No idea if header is stock or not. no idea if it's desmogged or not. what's the pro/con of desmog??

I did the jetting and the MCM mod at the same time so it's hard to say what made the bigger impact... buuuuttt since disabling the KACR after the MCM made my bike start in 1 or 2 revolutions MAX. Hot or cold, it doesn't matter, it fires right up.

Good points there.
I don't see how drilling the enricher would HURT anything, but after doing those other mods drilling may be just a wasted effort.

The DJ140 is not in the kit.. It's $2.00 thru DynoJet or probably free at your local motorcycle dyno shop..

Pilot jets:
N424-25-#38 kawi part no 92064-1050
N424-25-#40 part no 92064-1108

You can determine smog status and take pics of the header while waiting for parts..

Pwjm, instant starting is a feature of the MCM. It's one way you can tell that you did it correctly..

Correct me if I'm wrong: I'm buying the kit for the needle, e-clip, washers, slide spring. I'm also getting the DJ140 main jet, the #38 pilot jet, and yes the Fuel Screw from KoubaLink.com to make my life just that much easier.

Correct. DynoJet will not sell the needle separately.

QUITE informative.

Does desmogging have a performance gain?

And to add to the public forum what you shared in private message: without the FMF Q4 pipe, there aren't many gains to be had on a stock bike. For those holding out hope: is there ANYTHING that gives this old dog a nice bump in HP without having to shell out the money for an exhaust?

Absolutely there is hope for a stock bike. First, perform the MCM. (Marcelino cam mod - see it at top of our main page) Done correctly, you will notice a nice gain. Second, install the Dynojet 2152 following directions for stage 1. I would use at least the DJ 120 if not larger main jet near sea level. While I was not Dyno testing when I did the above on my new 2012, it makes the bike much more "lively" ... I would guess not so much a HP increase, but a good jump in TRQ..
