Holy cow, Any comments on this?
I think I exceed 4000 rpm going down the drive way!

I have heard, "ohhh drive it easy for 100 miles, and then go for it!"
Then there is a guy that has a "rev the ****-out-of-it" kinda website
Maybe that is the oppositie extreme..

I'm sure interested in some opinions here.

Thanks!!!
I just finished the break-in period a month or two ago. Was worried about that restriction as well.. Basically the general conclusion I came to with asking around was that it's not tooo essential to stick strickly to those restrictions, it being a modern-made machine and all, but keep it in mind that it does need time to sort its self out. Up to you if you want to use the 'ride it like you stole it' method, but I figure its never a bad idea to follow the manual. Thats what its there for any way...

Oh, and btw, after my 1000km service, it was like a totally different bike! Acceleration happened, and I wasn't thrashing it trying to get to motorway speed...

It is really important to warm the motor up before you start winding it out. I rode mine easy for about a hundred or so klicks and and then started winding it up and after about maybe 300 klicks I would near redline it once in a while. Don't ride it on hiways where you will be keeping it at constant rpm for periods of time. After about 500 klicks ride it like you are going to ride it for life.
There are many opinions on this one.
