Thumbs up Vortex Throttle Review

Ok so after hearing alot of the forum members talking about this mod i decided for 30 bucks i can't loose.

Install:
Took about 45 mins. Longest part was re-adjusting the cable to tighten it (at the carb end).

Report:
Well worth the 30 bucks. It reminds me of the throttle on my RM125 i had years ago. Very snappy. I have only used it on the street for about 100 miles and cant really complain. Without the return cable I notice the area between my thumb and index finger is a little sore due to it being a tad harder to twist/hold in one place but im sure it just takes some getting used to.

(sorry for the crap pictures)

My only suggestion is to paint it black so it blends better with the bike. I have yet to do it.

Can't wait to get it out on the trails because i am sure thats where it will shine!

Did the throttle need a different cable or use stock OEM?

Cool report. Even better if it includes the cable.

Its turns your OEM throttle to like a 1/4 turn is full throttle with the vortex is that right???

Yeh thats my understanding.
Increases the amount the butterfly or slide on the carby opens for every mm of throttle twist.
Gives a sense of greater throttle response.

Well it better give me some feel good as one is on the way.

When I had the dyno test done recently, the dyno guy suggested to me that he thought the throttle on the klx was a bit slow and suggested a Vortex throttle would improve the slightly sluggish feel.
I didn't do anything about it at the time but after reading nothing but good things, and given it is relatively cheap, I'm in.
(even though deep down I know it doesn't actually do too much)

It uses the stock cable. But you will have to adjust it at the carb end.

And yes that is correct. I no longer have to bend my arm to allow my wrist to crank the throttle all the way.

I got one too last week - love it.. I didn;t have to do any cable adjusts at the carb though - worked fine right out of the box..

Good stuff!
