Well done mate awesome especially when you were riding and the sun was setting, NZ is definately on the to do list, beautiful country !!! and sometimes its cheaper to fly there than other places on OZ LOL

Yea, was considering taking the tyre pressure down, but that would put me in a bad position for the ride home?

And I think I got better with the technique later on, would get going in 1st, then as soon as I had momentum I'd jump into second and get through it... starting off in second seemed to strain the engine too much...

Any decent bicycle shop has these.



Oh yeah! Stand up on the pegs and keep your weight back.

Ah crap! I have one! AND I had it with me! Just have it in the tool kit as an emergency kit...

Hmm. Shall do that next time! Shows me for flat thinking...

mate i carry just the same thing but hand operated it pumps up a tire up easy

we have a beach like that here in cali you ride on with huge dunnes. it wears you out fo sho. thanx for sharing

Yup.....I never use 1st in sugar, rev her up to 7k or so in second and drop the clutch, get up on the pegs and drop third.....don't slow down, ya gotta be scootin to float over that stuff......worst thing you can do is plow it in first.
