Default lighting problems

as many of you know, with the klx head light, it is very difficult see at night. low beam is great, if you dont need to see more than 5m infront, high beam is great if you dont need to see less than 5m infront. when going around coners is fine is you dont need to see. this is all in the bush, so there are no street lights. the only problem i have with the current lights is i can see the big F***ing hole im about to ride in to.

i have tryed to adjust the beam but i just get the same result, just at diffent lengths.

i have try to find the alternater restrictions but it does not say any where. not even in my work shop manuals and supplement. so i was not sure weather extra lights would kill my battery as i ride.

has anyone solved this problem or any suggestions or has the specs on the alternater, i have a 99' klx250h austrailan spec

Default lighting

hi fgk228

just wondering if you are still using the stock bulb.

Have a look at pia lighting, They make alot of different bulbs.

I am looking into getting one myself, but there are several diffent

styles to choose from. They are fairly expensive though.

Thumbs up

I replaced the stock bulb with a Silverstar...It does the trick for me. Walmart carries them also for about 25 bucks CDN Its the H4 base BTW....good luck.

Get a 100/55 watt bulb. Still got the 55 on dip but the 100 watt main makes things so much clearer at night. The stator can handle it. The lens is glass too so no problems with the extra heat.

I'd do like WestOz is doing (55lo/100hi). Even in High beam ,that would leave you with about 20W headroom with respect to the KLX charging system capacity.

What are the stock specs for the light? I will agree that it is definitely lacking.

Kmart, Supercheap Auto, Big W. Take your pick you'll find a 55/100 in a H4 . Try it out. Cheap solution for around $18.

You guys are funny, the KLX headlight is great, go ride a bike with a 6v system and you will thank the lord for the headlight on the KLX.
