PINGing
Greetings,
I do not know why my bike PINGs even with 94 octain fuel. I don't know if this is normal I have 500mi on it. It PINGs most noticable on takeoff at operating temperture. My friend bought the same exact bike and his don't seem to PING, he has 300mi on it. Further, we lined up on the road and he pulled away from me through the gears.
I'm hoping that him being 20 pounds lighter than I played a factor, I weigh in at 170 pounds. I take the bike in for its first initial maint. check up next week. Thanks for any suggestions.

Mine pings all the time lol,, I just ignore it.. your weight probably does play the factor.. I weigh 170 as well. But just tell the dealer about it when it gets maint...

I have a couple of theories. One: maybe this bike is setup for high altitude but that idea kinda cancels out with it runing lean or does it run lean? I'd like to put a combustion tester on it to see where I'm at but I would need a solid baseline on where it should be. Or perhaps I'm over anaylising it. Second: It maybe a slight timing issue. I'd like to know before I drop it off at the dealer to address my issue. I'm itching to do some mods though. JSAC, I like your thinking on the extended warranty.
