Pilot Jet #'s
Ok here goes.....5176363-001 Is the OEM KLX250S pilot jet# for a #35 pilot629919-001 is the pilot jet PN. for a #35 pilot on a KLX300which goes for 9.60$....The KLX250S pilot is going for 17.90 for an OEM price tag...WTF is going on here.......I thought they were both Keihin CVK carbs......all I know is that the main jets from my Honda rancher ATV and my buddies Yamaha Bruin fit my carb....funny huh?...just trying to make ends of this....because I am running an FSW header and an FMF powercore IV and with no airbox lid it is hard to start...even with the choke.I have removed the plug for the air mixture screw and set it to 2 1/2 turns out and also installed a 124 main with the neeedle on the 3rd clip position (from KLX300) for my setup....It runs very well with the exception of it does not want to start as easy as it did stock.I have 405 miles on the bike so I know it's not the valve adj. yet....I was thinking the #40 pilot jet with the air fuel screw out 1-1 1/2 turns may do it??? I am familiar with jetting but just looking for some input before i drop 17$ uneeded dollars on the KLX pilot jet which is only a #35 for a remedy.....where are you guys getting the #40 pilot and what is it from? just curious....I'm down to some fine tuning.

RE: Pilot Jet #'s
You'll find the part number for the #40 pilot in the Common Parts thread (sticky at the top of this forum).

Our bike does have the same carb from the KLX300, but I believe they came with different jetting setups in various models and countries (AUS / USA / D-Tracker / KLX300 / KLX250S). Same carbs, different jets (according to my factory service manual).

You can get the Keihin part numbers (and the jets too) at www.rageperformance.com. The shipping makes getting one jet a dumb idea, but I bought an assortment at $7.95 each (both main and pilot jets).
