I have another plan for the pegs, I'm in the process of designing saddle bag gas tanks, and they will slightly rest on a slip on subframe on the pegs. Here is a teaser picture. What I have in mind is to glue some comercial carpet onto the cans where they might rub, and also some sort of paint, although black might heat up from the sun............oh yea and an exhaust heat shield for the right side.

Would you have them mounted back a little further? That looks a little awkward in positioning, unless of course you had an alternate design gas can .. ?? Good idea though
