Ordered my KLX today!!!!
Hi everybody.
I've been lurking around here for about 6 months, but didn't want to join until
after I was sure this was the bike for me. About 2 months ago I pretty much sold myself on the 09 klx250s. My dealer has a red one but I do NOT want a Honda I want a Kawasaki so I ordered a green one. Not to mention IMHO the green looks bad @ss!
So I've got 7-10 days before I bring that bad boy home. I've been looking into a set of handguards and I know I want the strength of aluminum.
I am partial to Acerbis..but open to others. Any suggestions? I would rather
not have to "customize" the mounting except the required drilling out of the end plug.
So I guess a bit about me.
I have a lovely wife and an awsome 1 yr old named Kyle<--future riding buddy
We just bought a house last year. When all of this went down I was forced to give up my offroad rigs. I have always had at least 1 or 2 projects around.
Now I need to get back into wheeling/trail riding and my F-350 kills me in gas going to work. This bike will be used a lot offroad but also for a daily total commute of 40 miles (no highway).
So anyway...Hello and good to meet you all.
Cya on the trails!

Howdy, congrats on the new toy!! I got a new "07" about this time last year, and I couldn't wait for the occasional nice day to go out and do some "break in miles".
Mine saved me a bunch on gas last summer, commuting and running errands, but I think I spent more on stuff for the bike, than I saved in gas money.

I didn't put them on the stock bars though, I bought a set of Tusk aluminum bars at the same time.
Welcome! I'm a relative newbie to the KLX also. Bought my 09 in Jan but didn't ride for the first time until about 3 weeks ago. I've got about 75 miles on it now. The snow has been brutal in New England this year. It was about 54 degrees out today so I got in about 30 miles! It's a fantastic machine, you'll love it. (and yes, I like the green ones too).
BTW, I bought Maier deluxe woods pro handguards from RMATV because they are supposedly a little wider which hopefully means I won't have to trim my clutch or brake levers. They haven't arrived yet so I'm not 100% on that.

Welcome to the forum and congrat's on the buy! Nothing like bringing a new bike home.
There are so many good handle bars out there that I won't make recommendation. They're almost like exhaust systems without the heated debate though, so I'm sure you'll get many suggestions.

armycopter-Let me know how the install goes on those Maier guards. They look fairly tough.
I really don't mind having to cut/customize things, but this is the 1st new vehicle/bike that I've bought. I'm pretty good at rigging up stuff but I'd rather not on this beauty (at least not for the 1st season)
