Default One heat cycle then re-torque Cyl Head.

Guys,
Has anyone started there engine with no air box or exhaust.?
I want to heat the engine up and let it cool to re-torque the head.
After which i cam taking the engine out onto the bench.
So wanted to save time fitting the exhaust and air box.
Just wondered if anyone had done it before.?

Cheers
George

I put the head on the cylinder and didn't heat cycle, don't think it is necessary.

I didn't re-torque, and I asked the question here. Many "don't worry about it" replies and not one "yes, re-torque." YMMV

I've built a few engines in my time and have only ever retorqued when using aluminum heads on iron blocks.
