Are dirtsurfer's "mod day' or older "free mods" pictures and text still available?
I am finally getting around to uncorking and sanitizing the plumbing on an 06.

KLX FREE MODS -- 4 EASY STEPS TO MORE POWER!

 

Thanks Roadglider that's the kind of info I was hoping to see.
I just put the carb back on my stock 06 last night. Cleaned the main, pilot and main tube holes. I will start with the free mods as soon as I have it running correctly as a stocker. Reinstalled carb-sad to see what has to be under the hood nowadays regarding safety and epa plumbing and wires. I guess they did a pretty good job of stuffing it all in there. Started so fast I wish I had kept my fingers on the choke so I could have backed it down. Hate to rev it (3500) instantly after sitting a couple of years. Found the kill switch quicker then the choke. I rode it for about 15 miles at night, got the idle set at some of the stop lights. It idled, revved and cruised perfectly. What a great ride!
I'll start with the free mods stuff 1st and see if the carb will need dialing in to match.
