Ok don't laugh - how do you check the oil?

You mean "erect" not "supine."

Perpendicular.
To the ground that is.

The rubber bung is where the kick starter shaft goes, but you're close.

Default Oil level problem

I've put 1.5 liters in my bike and it is not showing up on the lense. I've changed it multiple times before and did everything the same and have never had this issue

its kind of hard to hold the bike up, press the brake pedal down, and check the oil level all at the same time,

are you sure? maybe add a little more? is any oil showing up on the dipstick tube?

what year is your motorcycle?

I'd be interested in seeing you check the oil "shooting for the sky" ... would probably even pay good money
