I just saw the new 2007 yamaha xt and wasnt impressed.

 

I just went on the Yamaha website and was very surprised. The fact of the matter is, last year, Japan and Europe got the all new re-designed XT250. The US was the only major market that got the same old XT225 that we have been getting since 1992 and Japan/Europe since 1986. It was assumed that the US will get the all new XT250 in 2007. Well....now I can see that we didn't.
It is amazing how these manufacturers take the US DP market so lightly.
I was at the Kawasaki dealer yesterday buying parts and a guy walked in looking for the KLX250S. The owner of the store told him that he was only allocated three for the year which all sold immediately. He said that he probably could've sold 15 more. He told the customer that even if he did a locate and found it at another dealer, that dealer certainly would not give it to another dealer. He apologized & told the guy that basically the bikes are sold out in this area until the 2007s come out next Spring. Boy did Kawasaki ever underestimate the DP market in the US!

 

I was really expecting the XT250 to be offered in 2007 -- what a disappointment. I wanted to get one. Oh well -- wait another year, and hope.

 

I said it from the beginning, I think this bike is going to be the best selling DS of all time. And if I am right you guys all have to get together and buy me the 2020 model when it comes out. Oh wait that would put me older than Marty and still riding? Sweet One can only hope right? LOL
