Default Nice upgrades and new-found torque

I am a lucky recepient of some upgraded handlebar/control parts bought from Bryantjt. I was a pleasure dealing you Josh and a fair deal was had on both ends. What i got from Josh was a Tusk KX low bend bars,Bar risers,D-flex hand guards, folding mirrors,Vortex quick throttle, and a MSR pro raptor shorty clutch lever. Basically the swap went well except for the OE throttle. Some gorilla had his wheeties this day and put on so tight, all the tricks for looseing a stuck screw failed. i eventually had to Sawzall the throttle assy apart to get to the cable i needed for the vortex throttle. What a PITA........

The results are fantastic! The vortex throttle is a must have. It absolutle made the bike feel like it had more turque. And not just a little. I have a section of whoops by my house for testing and can now lift the front wheel at will thru the woops. I am running 13/42 gearing with the large 120 dunlop 606. The gearing is near stock w/ the big tire and i thought i needed to re-gear the bike for more front tire lofting but i don't think i have to now. My mods are 125 main, 2.5 turns, middle notch on the needle, smog delete, uni arifilter, snorkle removed, 3 5/8ths holes on top of the airboxand a 2002 KLX 300OE pipe and the bike runs perfect.

i am at 1900 ft in elevation.

Stop what you are doing and go order this throttle. You won't be dissapointed.

Shorty clutch is a nice add-on as well

Having a blast

rbarchi,
I bought it used so i don't have a part #. You only use the pull cable. The push one goes into the ever expanding parts box.

just go to e-bay and get one for any kawasaki. they're really not model specific. i think i got the kx250 one. they do only use one cable. the "pull" cable is used. the return cable is removed and shelved. it's worth the $30.

i agree. this was the most bang for the buck mod that i've done. only thing that could come close was the fmf system and dynojet. these were two night and day type mods. to me, even changing the gearing wasn't too noticeable, and i've done 13/42, 13/45 and finally 13/47. the throttle is a must have.

Ok, neanderther.....It better be worthwhile.....I'll give it a shot

You do know our resident Iowa boy swears the vortex makes no difference..no matter to me ..... I never agree with him anyoo.

i'm gonna give IG a pass this time. the poor guy may need your boat right about now. nasty floods up that way. if he did say that, though, he'd be completely wrong. vortex throttle was a huge improvement.
