Upstate, HA! I'm 3.5 hrs North of you in the Massena, Potsdam, Cornwall ON region. Little closer and I'd be game to have a work day.

Josh...Ouch..That's way up there (okay I live in Mid-State NY).

My wife and I just bought a camp in Stony Creek, NY - said to have trails in all directions for approx. 15 miles (SWEET! [sm=smiley20.gif]). This was the impetus for getting the bikes. I seriously cannot wait until after tax season (I'm a CPA) [sm=bounceybounce.gif]to get riding again. I'm also a little older now and hopefully a little wiser, so I'm not going to be taking any serious crap on...just fun trail rides to remote destinations. Got wifey a mint 1973 Honda CT-90 so I can't blast away from her without getting into trouble.[sm=chairshot.gif]

Deej & Josh, Upgrades that you mentioned that I like (Where did you get them ???)
Acerbis hand guards with built in turns
Folding mirrors
Front fender extensions (I think they're cool!)
Acerbis tail light mod

Thanks again.

Josh, How do you perform the following?

7/64" slide vent , 3/8" crankcase vent

Is this really technical?

I order mostly from www.rockymountainatv.com

The 7/64" slide vent mod is when you have the slide out of the carburetor there is a tiny vacuum hole, just drill it out to 7/64". It lets the slide travel up and down faster for improved throttle response.

The 3/8" crankcase vent is done one of several ways. On the lower right side of the airbox you can see a hose coming from the motor and leading into the airbox, ala, crankcase vent. If you pull that tube off the airbox the vent is restricted down to a rather small hole. The idea being that it should prevent oil from running into the airbox should you drop the bike on the right side. You can either run a drill bit through there with vice grips, heat a drill bit with a torch and push it through, or cap that nipple on the airbox and run the vent up under the seat with a longer hose and a K&N breather filter on the end. This is to allow the crankcase gases to escape from the motor faster, which "should" allow the piston to cycle more freely. How much a difference it really makes I couldn't tell you, I just did it anyway.
