One more question

IF I was going to use the lid, with no snorkel, MCM and put back on the Kawi slip on. What main should I use for 55deg at lea level?

My Power Core 4 might be too loud for my small town. I contacted FMF and searched like crazy. The FMF Quiet Core #040630 is not available anywhere except for ebay sellers in UK for aprox $75 w/shipping. I have a welder buddy and we might just fabricate a homemade core. But might have to go back to OEM exhaust as a "plan B" .... Sucks.

My guess is about a 135K ?

N1TC is a short, rich, needle. It does work IF you have a stock spring and a stock slide lift port - and only with the clip on the top notch.

Lidless power requires a stock spring and stock slide lift port - I just have to keep repeating this to you as I know of no other way to say it.. If your slide lift port is drilled - or has been drilled - you will have to JB Weld it shut and redrill it with a 5/64 bit.

If your welder buddy "muzzles" your PC4 too much, or you reinstall the stock muffler, or put the lid back on the airbox, Lidless power carb setups are not available to you and will not work on your bike.

If you use the quiet core on the PC4, you can try running the lidless setup - it may work or it may overfuel your bike.

Lids an snorkels (and stock exhaust) require the "normal" stage I and stage II carb setups as found in the DJ kits (2206 and 2152) ..

I will add that if you put the stock slipon back on the bike, you will also need to put the lid back on the airbox and run the "standard" performance carb setups.

My gut feeling is that FMF runs an annual batch of the 040630 parts... I ordered one directly from FMF last April, only to find out it was out of stock. They contacted me a few months later (August maybe?) to tell me they were back in stock. A quick search at that time showed them available again at many retailers.... Fast forward to April 2019, everyone shows them out of stock again.

I bet they will be back in stock about mid-summer.

Ralph from FMF emailed me yesterday and said they're currently working on production. So that's good news that they do annual batches. We'll wait for it.

Doing my valve clearances now. And going to do the MCM this afternoon.

We'll use the top groove on the clip and not drill the slide. Waiting on fatter main Jets

Plug reading no longer gives useful information - ethanol'd fuel is the reason. White is exactly what you want to see with E10 and E15..

It is possible to study and then retrain to properly read E10 fueled spark plugs.

Bike was in lower 48 for its first 3 years where he did most of his riding. Most likely with E10

We are lucky up here, they dont send E10 up to Alaska, no ethanol .... yet!
