New to KLX250 and motorcycling
Just wanted to say thanks to those who replied.
In general, I do intend to know as much of the maintenance as possible as time goes by and once my checkbook stops smoking (laid down coin for the full amount of the bike) am going to get a good quality riding jacket and pants.
One thing I wasn't prepared for was how cold my hands got on only a 20 minute ride after work today. 40 degrees F may as well have been 20 by the time I was done (I'm also a bicyclist and should have known better). Tomorrow during lunch break my first riding accessories purchase will be a pair of winter weight riding gloves.
Thanks again, everyone.

An excellent mod (especially if you are taking the bike off road) is to add hand guards, aka "bark-busters" These will save you grief, and money, by protecting your fingers when riding in the woods, and the clutch/brake levers when you drop the bike. I mention these because an added benefit to having the hand guards (with the roost deflectors), is that they keep the wind off of your hands, and keeping the wind off your hands makes a big difference in keeping them warm.
