Here is some helmet cam footage from some new land our club has leased. It's some nice tight woods. Whats crazy (to me) in this video is how much the weeds have grown in from two weeks earlier when we were out cutting the trail. Video from last sat. 5-18-2013

Good grief, dan...you think you could make that trail a little tighter? I don't like wide open trails like that one. It's just too easy.

What brake line are you running? I'd like to set mine up the same.
Since it won't stop raining, I guess I'll go rake out my mtn bike trail, then fire up the bike and try and ride it. It won't be as tight as Dan's trails!

 

It's all technique. Everyone knows that dan's bike only has about 15 horsepower due to a faulty big bore install.

Definitely a fun trail, I like them tight ;D That new section of land is the main reason I finally plunked down the $250 it takes to join the club. $250 to me is like $2500 to TNC.
MaxP that is the stock brake line. Last week after making that video I rode the loop on my MTB. I was pretty worn out already, but I think it is safe to say that there are some spots that are not ride-able without a engine.
Dusty the 351 is doing the work when that wheel come up, no clutch , just a snap of the throttle, and that is with the stock CVK carb. A pumper would give you an even quicker response.
Mucky, that was all new trail chopped out about a month ago. Walking through the woods with machetes arrows and staple guns. It has really burned in fast, and it makes me worry about how rutted out it will get, once everybody in the club starts riding it.

 

Just got back from there, it was one of those days. Got a buddy of mine that is so busy he can never make time to ride anymore out there, and then the KLX wouldn't start! Popped a couple times but that was it. Even tried bump stating it. Finally took him out and walked the trails ( he didn't want to get his bike all muddy for a couple solo loops)then packed up and came home. The new Irridium plug i have , had spark but it was jumping from the side, not the bent ground but the sides, to the center. Plug looks like it is really rich, and I think I have had the bike a touch rich for a long time . Here is a pic of the "new" plug

I think I may go down a size on my main jet and see what it feels like.
OK so i almost forgot the when it rains it pours part. To get the plug out i had to partially pull the tank off. I took the bolts out and lifted the tank slightly out of its spot. I took a break for lunch and my wife comes in and says "whats running out of you bike all over the garage floor, it looks like gas" WTF!! I run out and see that one of the gas lines that had some pressure from being twisted sideways has snapped off and a nice stream of gasoline is running all over the ground. About a 6 foot puddle. While trying to get it contained I twist the tank a bit more and the other line snaps off and sprays gas all over my shoes! geeeez!
Gas is all sopped up but you can see where it was.



the only thing i can say is that I'm glad it happened on an off day , not some big ride 200 miles away from here. You might want to look at those gas lines, in fact i looked at them when i re did the engine this winter they looked great,still do, no signs of cracking , so you might want to put a little flex on them and see if they split, or snap.

Nice vid, I don't like trees bigger than 1" around the trail, otherwise I slow down. I hit one once, I kinda remember something about it. One or two once in a while is ok, but that is just rediculus!
