Yeah, bugs are a lot of fun to play with. When I was stationed in San Diego, I had a 1776 done-up by Bernie Bergman. It had hydraulic lifters, the case o-ringand a turbo tucked in front of the fan shroud. Thatthat little thingscreamed! Never had a problem with it...not evena single drop of oil after 3 years of thrashing!

My first car was a 1974 Super Beetle. I loved that car! Always wanted to do some major modding to the engine, but never got a chance to. Right after finishing the restoration, some b*tch in a minivan ran through a red light and took the poor VW out.

Lifes good, I'm living in Preston Idaho, top end of the cache valley. Excellent riding in the rocky Mountains.I built the bug in St. George Utah. I lived there for 25 years, will be moving back in Sept 08.Originally from So. Calif where I raced Motocross. The Arizona Strip which is minutes away from St. George has hundreds and hundreds of miles of off roading. You can ride to the Grand Canyon 90 miles, Lake Mead 60 miles, and many other cool places. I built the Baja for off roading there.Great place for Bikes too.I built it from the ground up including the engine. It's a 2110 with a forged & ballanced crank totalseal rings, pistons and rods are within 1/2 gram, full flowed case with thermastacically controlled oilcooler & fan. Dual Webercarbs, etc. etc.Can spin it up to 7000rpm before redline. It will break the rear tires loose in third@ 50mph. The KLX is coming along FMF powerbomb &Q4, no smog stuff, rejetted, removed air box lid, fabricating rear license plate holder. Hand guards etc. this winter.
