Default New 2012 KLX250s reviews

Does anybody have a 2012 KLX250s?

Any issues or problems with the new models?

Thanks

PS---I had 2006 with 457 miles on it, car pulled out in front of me last week. Bent the frame and totaled it :-(
this is why I'm looking for a new one.

Thanks

I didn't know you could disable the kickstand kill switch. What do I need to do?

I have the 2012 and I love it, 600 miles so far. I just put an FMF powercore 4 on yesterday and that opened it up. Brein, where did you find a K&N that fits the 2012? it doesnt even show one on their website..

I have disabled the kickstand switch and the clutch switch. Follow the wires they will lead to bullet style elec connectors. Unplug them from the wires going to the kickstand and plug them in together. It will think the kickstand is always up. Did the same thing with the clutch switch.

They don't make one specifically for the KLX, but this one fits fine KNF KA-1287.

I removed my switch assembly completely. I cut the wires about 3" from the connector (switch side, not harness side) and connected them together using a water-proof splice. I tucked the wire in near the main harness, and tie-wrapped it to keep it from flopping around.

when i was near 1,500 miles or so on my klx...i was going about 75 mph +/- on a wide freeway in the #1 lane....i hit some rough patch...some heavy vibration...bike just cut out!...i have cars on my butt and around me....i ended up rolling to the center divider of a major freeway with cars speeding by on both sides...i could not get the bike to start....towed the bike home...disconnected the kickstand kill switch...starts right up...maybe the vibrations or some rocks hit the wiring...but, that was definitely not safe having the bike just cut out like that on the freeway....follow the wire from the kickstand to underneath the front section of the seat....splice it together to disable..if you did it correctly..just have the bike in gear (clutch in) and put down and up the kickstand..the bike should still be running...
