Just trying to do the FMF Q4. Also ordered the the FMF power up jet kit(#011708) Got the needle set @ 4th notch, #128 jet ,etc. Instructions say to set fuel screw @2.5 turns CCW from seat.
Where is the screw at?? Carb is a Kehin, (CVK?) P023 AVKF.
I see no screws visable to adjust.
Bike is a 09 KLX250S.
Thanks guys
Jerry

Started @8.00am. Installed # main 128 jet, removed stock needle, installed new needle on #4 groove, all with parts FMF #011708 power up jet kit stg.2.
Slipped on FMF Q4.
I also drilled out seal plug for mixture screw and backed that out 2.5 turns from seat. I did not replace screw with a #40 as suggested as I do not have, and had to use the stock screw.(If I need this screw please tell me where I can find it ,as local bike shop is of little use)
The bike will just start and idle. THATS ALL IT WILL DO! Anything more than a slight touch of the throttle and it just dies.
Long story short, after jacking around with main jets, trying various groove positions on needle, I finally went back to the stock jet & needle.
I,ll be damned if it still will not run on anything but @ idle.
Really at my witts end here guy,s, blew it off @ 5.30.
Throttle cables work fine, hose's are hooked up right( I THINK ) nothing seem,s to be binding.
I know I've done something wrong but what???
Please help.
God bless

Hey, weaktruk, you aren't talking about replacing the mixture screw, are you? Anyway, I did the exact same thing with the Dyno-Jet KLX300 kit on my 250 and had the exact same problem. The Dyno-Jet instructions suggested using the #4 groove on the needle for a baseline setup at sea level. I was right at sea level, so that's what I did. Bike died with any throttle. Went to the #3 groove... perfect! I don't know how similar the FMF and Dyno-Jet kits are but, moving the clip to the 3rd grove is worth a try. Hope it works for you. Here are my settings: Mixture screw 2.5 turns out. #35 pilot jet (stock). #128 main jet. Needle on 3rd groove.

No spark?? What the ???
Buddy and I were riding along last Sat. All of a sudden the 250 just died!
Checked the usual all OK. Pulled the plug Sun. and no spark. Went to the kick stand lock out switch and jumped wires and got spark. Twice.
All week long when I first get home from work I can get about 2 sparks and then nothing. Im thinking a short somewhere, but really leaning in the direction of a possible coil problem. Do coil's act like this? Work for a spark or two and nothing?
Kinda pulling my hair out here guy's.
It's a 09 klx 250s only 600 miles and out of warranty of course.
Thanks and GOD Bless. Jerry

One of the first things I did when I started modding mine was to completely bypass the sidestand switch. Pull it off the sidestand bracket and follow the wires up to the plug, go a few inches past the plug, cut the wires (so you have enough useable wire for later if you wanna return it to stock) and solder the remaining two together.
Before this, I always had problems in water crossings with the bike cutting out (usually in the middle of the crossing) and since I removed the switch, no more problems!
