<---- needs a little help.
lookin to get a little bit more specific information regarding jetting and recomendations with a full muzzy exhaust... i currently have in a #40 and #125 with the needle pointing up, on the second notch from the bottom and my intake is still stock... waiting on the kdx200 snorkel.
and am i close to where i need to be with the needle?? (i didnt know what end everyones counting from so i just guessed and hoped i was right...) And should i go up to a #128 or higher when i get the snorkel? how do i know if its running too lean.
i found out that the klx does a nother trick besides wheelie and playing in the dirt.... with the muzzy you can scare the crap out of kids and old people from 50ft away. [sm=happy046.gif] not intentionally of course.... hehehe

you should have told me you needed a snorkel. i have a couple of them in the garage and would have brought one down with me yesterday.
usually you count from the top on that needle. i think where you havethe e-clipit's going to have the needle too high in the slide. i think it should be the 2nd notch from the TOP. i could be wrong on that though.
don't worry too much about running lean. your really close with what you have now. trying to get it any better will drive you nuts. as long as you not getting a bad stutter any where in the rev range just let it go. the bike is fine. of course with 8000 miles on your engine you should be paying close attention to your vavles.

yeah just lately i've been starting to hear some what of a "tickering" guess that'll be my next project, have you adjusted yours before??? seems like the hardest part of doing it is getting to it and if i'm going to be taking all that stuff off to fool around with the carb whats a few more nuts and bolts right? as far as the snorkel goes i'm tryin to give this local shop a lot of business for most of my small orders. i want him to stay open and get bigger because hes litteraly 1/2 a mile away from my house. sooooooo much better then the 20 mile ride to the other shop i used to go to, plus i was sick of the crappy service in that other place.
haven't done the valves myself. right now it's still beyond my capabilities. they were checked at 2000 miles though. you have the quiet core in there. not that it's quiet.
eventually you will have to repack that. muzzy sells a repacking kit. don't know the cost. someone in here has done it.
have you taken all the smog stuff off the bike and drilled out the airbox vent?
if not there are detailed instructions(with pic's)in here on how to do that. it's a piece of cake.

yeah i took of the KRC air suction and re routed the CC to up under the highest part of the seat and put a K&N filter on it, plugged up the old air box hole with a rubber grommet. I also have a K&N air filter in it right now, but i just had my twin air show up yesterday so i'm gunna go back to foam filter... i think the K&N lets in more dirt and crap.
As far as needle positions go, whats up whats down, whats it do? right now i've got it at the second possition from the rounded, short, closest to the groves end.... so if the needle was pointing up mines second from the bottom... anyone else have it set at something diffrent?

I too am on the 2nd notch from the short end. Runs fine, 7500+ miles and counting with 2 valve adjustments and another check. I've been checking/adjusting every 2000 miles.
****.... i think i need to do a valve adjustment like 6,000 miles ago... i havnt had them checked once. how much does it usally cost? is it hard to do?
I have had the bike in the shop three times, approx 2,000, 4,000 and 6,000 miles for other things and had them check the valves and every time they said the valves were perfect. So I don't know, anyone ever heard of a bike never needing adjusted? Oh and the shop should be able to do it in an hour, so shims and $65.00
