My KLX250S was a looker when I bought it in March. Since then I have wrecked it twice trailering it and twice while parked on dirt or asphault. Watch it, you need a kick-stand enlarging foot to place under your kick-stand. It will go through the asphault. I scraped-up the radiator side covers/ the front fender, the left and right side cover, and the left turn indicator. I know that some of you have replaced your stock parts with aftermarket tanks fenders, D-Tracker etc. If any of you can give me a source for D-Tracker plastics, I am going to convert it to a Black and silver D-Tracker look. If any of you have stock U.S. KLX250S plastics you have removed from your bike that are in lik-new condition and wish to part with them, I wish you could let me know.

i layed mine down twice scarching the handgaurds and mirrors. Also got my pant leg caught on the peg and layed it down. No major damage. One thing about the bike even with a little bit a gas in the tank it wont run. res wasnt working either. I hadabout in inch or two of gas left and it still was lossing power add more gas bamo brand new bike.

 

I did bend my left side handlebar in slightly when it went down on the asphault. I have considered rplacing the stock bars with the heavy aluminum replacement type but then I read some threads on how much modification others had to do and I left the slight bend. I would really like to give my bike some looks back though. I have no radiator side graphics now, peeled the scared-up ones off, and I have a cut off front fender where the front part got kinked because I had the steering locked when it fell in the asphault parking lot. My left side panel is history. If I am going to have to pay for factory replacements, I might as well look for the D-Tracker plastics I really like and play with the appearance of the bike a bit. I would really like to find some left over stock plastics that someone took off and doesn't need.

Check out e-bay. I was on today and someone has left and right side covers listed as well as a rear rack, fender and handlebars.

 

XGXRacing.com has some really nice after marketradiator shroud/side covers & accesory kits as well with a lot of different graphic designs. I don't think they do the exhaust & battery side covers though.

 

Good luck on the d-tracker plastics. Unless you have a contact in Japan it will be next to impossible to get them. As far as handlebars go they are pretty much a swap em out procedure. The exhaust side side panel will fit from a klx300 and the maier rear fenders will also fit. Any universal mount front fender will fit and Ibelive the klx300 front fender is the same.
