Need help!!! webcams 101 or pumper carb
Ok all, I have Mr. Blue's kit sitting on my workbench ready for install. I have my cams packaged for shipping. Im sitting here about to order dynojet kit and it occured to me that instead of the cams...maybe I should get the pumper??

You'll probably get different views on this. The 34 or 36 pumper is a great improvement. However, in your case you're doing the 351 and one other mod. You're already invested a great deal in this project. Can you imagine what the 351, cams, and 36mm pumper carb would add to the overall performance if all done together? Personally I think Bill's carb setup is a little high when compare to getting the TM36-68. It works excellently on my 300-jugged KLX, and I'd never consider going back to the CV carb unless I was preparing to sell my bike. BTW, either pumper carb equals or exceeds the mileage of a modded CV carb

thanks for the quick reply... still sitting here scratching my head! I am eventually going for all mods but not sure which one is better first. In my head im thinking:
1) BB351
2) webcams 101
3) tm-36-68
4) programable CDI (just because I want to see if it has any benifit with all the mods)
Just wondering if spending the $50 on the DJ kit is a throw away??

use the $15 in store cash once you buy the carb and in a second transaction buy jets and needles for your elevation.

Cams
Just finished up replacing the head on my 351, and while I was at it put Webcams 101 and deshrouded the valves. The shrouding in this engine's head is pretty terrible.
I cc'd the combustion chamber repeatedly through the process to make sure I did not bring the compression ratio down below 11:1
Still on the stock carb.
EVERYTHING about the bike is better - starts easier, idles smoother, better mid-range, better top end. I expected the cam to really help the top end and not much else, but the bike is noticeably better all over.
67 mpg on last run through the mountains (street, I've got an SF).
